ABSTRACT

Diante da importância das infecções urinárias hospitalares, o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a freqüência de microrganismos presentes nas infecções de pacientes internados no Hospital Geral de Fortaleza (HGF). As bactérias foram isoladas no meio decultura ágar CLED e a identificação e o teste de susceptibilidade aos antimicrobianos foram realizados através do aparelho de automação MicrosScan®, DADE. No período de Janeiro a Junho de 2003, 39,3% das culturas de urina de pacientes internados realizadasno Laboratório de Patologia Clínica do HGF foram positivas. A Candida sp foi o microrganismo mais freqüente com 28%, seguido pela Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli e Pseudomonas aeruginosa respectivamente. A Clínica Médica foi o setor do Hospital Geral de Fortaleza onde os pacientes tiveram mais infecções urinárias hospitalares, seguidas pela Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) e Unidade de Terapia de Urgência (UTU). Conclui-se com este estudo que o índice de infecção urinária hospitalar da UTU está elevado em relação aos outros locais de infecções hospitalares dos pacientes internados no HGF e que o microrganismo mais freqüente é uma levedura.


Ahead of the importance of the hospital urine infections, the objective of this study was to verify the frequency of microorganisms gifts in the infections of patients interned in the General Hospital of Fortaleza (HGF). Bacteria had been isolated in the way of culture agar CLED and the identification and test of susceptibility to antimicrobials had been carried through device of MicrosScan ® automation, DADE. In the period of January the June of 2003, 39,3% of the urine cultures of patients interned carried through in the Laboratory of Clinical Pathology of the HGF they had been positive. Candida sp was more frequent microorganism with 28%, followed for Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli e Pseudomonas aeruginosa, respectively. Medical clinic was the sector of the General Hospital of Fortaleza where the patients they had had more hospital urine infections, followed for the Unit of Therapy Intensive (UTI) and Unit of Therapy of Urgency (UTU). It is concluded with this study that the index of hospital urine infection of UTU is raised in relation to the others places of hospital infections of the patients interned in the HGF and that more frequent microorganism is a yeast.
